What will be the response area of the new Three Springs fire station?

CURRENT

Station 1 in Bodo Park is the primary staffed fire station that responds into the Three Springs area with a Fire Engine, Ladder Truck, and Ambulance.  Station 1 also provides initial responses to the following areas:

  • Hwy. 550 S. Corridor
  • Hwy. 172 Corridor
  • Hwy. 160 Corridor
  • Grandview
  • Florida Mesa
  • Sunnyside
  • Bondad
  • Durango Airport

We currently have volunteer stations that assist in these areas when available:

  • Station 7 – 204 Hwy 172 – Elmore’s Station
  • Station 10 – 8565 Hwy 550 S. – Sunnyside Station
  • Station 11 – 4040 Hwy 550 S. – Bondad Station

NEW THREE SPRINGS - STATION 4

Will provide increased primary staffed response into all the areas listed above.  The Three Springs station will increase response capacity for City and County residents.  The new station also allows for quicker response down the Hwy. 550 S. corridor after the highway re-alignment and roundabout off of Wilson Gulch Road. The Volunteer Stations will remain in place to continue to assist these areas as well, when volunteers are available.

The new station in Three Springs will add capacity to the entire system.  With the new Station serving this area we are able to add capacity in coverage.  Fire Engines and Ambulances will be more available in other areas of the District and City instead of being routed to this area.
