CDS Application 2027

The Interagency Wildfire Center is a proposed multi-agency facility in Durango, Colorado designed to strengthen regional wildfire response, coordination, and preparedness. The project will bring together local, state, and federal partners into a shared space to improve communication, reduce response times, and enhance operational efficiency.

Southwest Colorado faces increasing wildfire risk, growing population in the wildland-urban interface, and expanding demands on emergency services. This facility will serve as a central hub for wildfire operations, training, and planning across the region.

The land for the project is owned by the Durango Fire Protection District, demonstrating strong local commitment and readiness to move forward.
